Anyone who has read my blog -I have covered much of the afterlife. I will refer to Dr. Michael Newton, whom has done extensive research into Life Between Lives for his explanation of ghosts....Ghosts can be less mature spirits who have trouble freeing themselves from earthly contaminations. Our spirit guides do not coerce us to move into the spirit world if our unfinished business is so overpowering that we do not want to leave Earth's astral plane. After we die we can chose to stay as long as we wish to take care and watch over loved ones until we feel the time is right to cross over. When we talk of ghosts remember that discarnates don't have a linear clock in their heads. A ghost who has haunted an English castle for four hundred years and finally returns to the spirit world may feel in spirit time, this actually amounted to forty hours to them! The reasons for staying behind are varied. Perhaps the life ended in an unexpected manner, which caused a deviation from a major path. Some people have misconceptions that ghosts don't know they are dead or how to escape their situation. They are in a sense trapped, but they are not lost in some confined astral plane and they are totally aware they have made a transition out of life on Earth. There are special guides called Redeemer Masters which constantly monitor those spirits that stay behind and help them when they are ready to exit the Earth's plane. The soul world is based totally on free will. There are no acts of control. This control and manipulation which we experience on Earth as humans is a Homo Sapien trait only. The spirit world works free of Earthly constaints like that.
There are discarnates who visit Earth. These are entities who travel to Earth as tourists and have never incarnated on our planet. They might have incarnated on other planets though! Some are known to be friendly or even aggravating at times! Some people who have died and crossed over, travel as discarnates to other worlds and this one, both in and out of our demension. Some explain that on these journeys they see other nonphysical entities on these trips. These essentially are light beings, which I personally have had contact with...allbeit just the one time, but it is something I will never forget.
There are alot of misconceptions about the existence of evil spirits, good spirits and spiritual influences on Earth. Reports that have come from many hypnosis subjects in Dr. Newton's practise, when talking about Life between Lives, do not see the devil or demonic spirits floating around Earth. What they do feel when they are spirits is an abundance of negative human energy exuding the intense emotions of anger, hate and fear. These disruptive thought patterns are attracted to the consciousness of other negative thinkers who collect and disseminate even more disharmony. All this dark energy in the air, as Dr. Newton states,works to the detriment of positive wisdom on Earth.
People's fears of ghosts are linked with beliefs of demonic forces. Often a friendly spirit, often a dead relative, has been trying to reach them. For the most the spirit may only wish to bring comfort and love, but sometimes the miscommunication between the sender and the receiver gets confused. Souls have little trouble with telepathy between themselves, but this doesn't mean all souls are adept communicators with incarnated people. However on rare occasions a disturbed, inept spirit has made contact because of some unresolved karmic issues they have on Earth. The ghost's confusion lies in the obsessive attachment they have to places, people and events where they can't let go.
